Odisha is poised to become an even greater force in the global aluminium market with Vedanta Aluminium's announcement to establish a colossal greenfield aluminium smelter project in the Dhenkanal district. 

This ambitious undertaking represents an astounding investment of Rs 1.3 trillion and is set to feature a 3 million tonnes per annum aluminium smelter alongside a robust 4,900 MW captive power plant. 

Upon completion, this project is anticipated to be one of the largest aluminium smelters in the world, dramatically boosting the regional economy. 

The scale of this investment is expected to generate over 2 lakh direct and indirect jobs, fostering the growth of auxiliary industries, improving logistics, and enhancing infrastructure across the region. 

This strategic move solidifies Odisha's position as a global hub for aluminium production and aligns with India's broader vision of becoming a global manufacturing powerhouse.
