Vedanta has announced the expansion of its Lanjigarh alumina refinery capacity to 5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA), marking a significant step in its metals growth strategy. 

The scale-up is aimed at improving operational efficiencies and supporting downstream aluminium production. Lanjigarh is a key asset in Vedanta’s integrated value chain. 

The expansion will help meet rising domestic and export demand for alumina. It also reinforces the company’s focus on strengthening India’s metals manufacturing base.
