The Uttar Pradesh government has cleared a 500-bed super-speciality hospital in Varanasi to strengthen advanced healthcare services in eastern Uttar Pradesh. 

The proposed facility will offer high-end treatment across multiple specialties, reducing the need for patients to travel to metros. 

It is expected to significantly ease pressure on existing government hospitals in the region. 

The project aligns with the state’s broader healthcare expansion programme focused on medical education and tertiary care. 

Construction activity is also likely to generate employment and allied economic activity locally.
