United Breweries Ltd (UBL), part of the Heineken group, has completed the registration of a lease deed for a greenfield brewery in Unnao district, Uttar Pradesh. 

The land was allotted by the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA), and the project underscores UBL’s commitment to expanding its manufacturing footprint in a key growth market.

The brewery is being developed with both mainstream and premium production in mind — UBL plans to make iconic brands like Heineken, and the facility will support both canning and bottling operations. 

The first phase is expected to deliver around 1.3 million hectolitres (mhl) of capacity, with a packaging mix of about 70% cans and 30% bottles. 

UBL has earmarked an investment of Rs. 750 crore for this project, to be financed through a mix of debt and equity.
