Power Generation  -  Jun 19,2025  -

TGV SRAAC Limited (formerly Sree Rayalaseema Alkalies and Allied Chemicals Ltd.) has given a major contract to thyssenkrupp nucera to make its caustic soda plant in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, bigger.

This project will increase the plant's capacity from 1,000 tons per day (tpd) to 1,500 tpd, which is a major step in the company's growth.
thyssenkrupp nucera will do the project using its special e-BiTAC technology with Generation 7 parts, providing top-notch efficiency and reliability. The work includes designing and providing special equipment. It also means installing three more electrolyzers, bringing the total to 13 units.

Other improvements include building a new system for handling chlorine and a system to clean waste air. The project will also improve the first and second steps of cleaning brine (saltwater), making sure the operation is strong and good for the environment.

TG Venkatesh, Chairman of TGV Group, said, "This is a turning point for us. This expansion shows our big picture plan, and we trust in thyssenkrupp nucera's technology and ability to deliver a top-quality facility."

Kiran Joseph, interim CEO and CFO of thyssenkrupp nucera India, said, "We are honored that TGV SRAAC chose us for this important project. Our complete solutions and strong after-sales support make us a leader in the Chlor-Alkali industry."

Keisho Cho, CEO of thyssenkrupp nucera China, said, "We are happy to support this landmark project. We are providing special supplies and working closely with our team in India."
