Adani Group commissions India’s first off-Grid Green Hydrogen Pilot

Power Generation  -  Jun 23,2025  -

The Adani Group has opened India's first small-scale green hydrogen plant. This plant, located in Kutch, Gujarat, can make 5 megawatts of power.

An off-grid green hydrogen plant makes hydrogen using clean energy sources like sun or wind. It is not connected to the main power lines. This means it creates all its own energy to make the hydrogen.

This 5-megawatt plant was built by Adani New Industries Limited (ANIL). ANIL is the clean energy part of Adani Enterprises Ltd.

The Adani Group said this plant is a big step for India's plan to use more green hydrogen. They said it shows that making green hydrogen using only renewable energy, away from the main power grid, is possible. This is important for industries that create a lot of pollution.
