ZUPPA launches drone MRO lab at Madras Regimental Centre

Infrastructure  -  Jun 19,2025  -

ZUPPA Geo Navigation Technologies Pvt. Ltd., a company from Chennai, has opened a modern Drone Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) Lab at the Madras Regimental Centre (MRC). They did this in partnership with the Indian Army's Dakshin Bharat Area.

This important move is a direct response to the Indian Army Chief's request in November 2024 for "a drone for every soldier." It sets up the groundwork for widely using, training with, and fixing Indian-made drones in the field.

ZUPPA, which is India's only company that develops and makes advanced drones, will power the MRO Lab with its own Learning Management System (LMS) and hands-on technical training courses. These tools are designed to teach soldiers – especially new recruits (Agniveers) and those leaving service – important skills in drone electronics, checking for electrical interference, fixing parts, and other related areas.

Sai Pattabiram, Founder & MD, ZUPPA Pvt. Ltd., said, "The real difficulty in drone warfare isn't just flying them, but understanding their complex electronic systems – especially how strong electromagnetic fields affect sensitive sensors on board."
