THDC India Limited, a leading power sector PSU, has awarded a significant Engineering Consultancy Services contract to DMR Hydroengineering & Infrastructures Limited. 

This contract, secured by DMR Hydroengineering in collaboration with its German partner Fichtner GmbH, pertains to the preparation of the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the ambitious 1,950 MW Aruna Pumped Storage Project (PSP) in the state of Maharashtra.

The Aruna PSP is envisioned as a critical component in Maharashtra's renewable energy and energy storage strategy. 

Pumped storage projects are vital for grid stability, managing peak electricity demands, and facilitating the integration of intermittent renewable energy sources like solar and wind power into the grid.

This collaboration brings together DMR Hydroengineering's strong domestic expertise in hydro and infrastructure projects with Fichtner's extensive global experience in large-scale energy developments. 

The partnership is expected to ensure a high-quality and comprehensive DPR, which is a crucial step before the actual construction of the pumped storage project can begin.
