Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited plans to set up the country’s largest ingot and wafer manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh with an investment of Rs. 6,675 crore. 

The project is aimed at strengthening backward integration in the solar value chain and supporting domestic module manufacturing. 

It will help reduce dependence on imported raw materials amid rising demand for solar installations. 

The facility is expected to attract ancillary units and create a renewable manufacturing ecosystem in the region. 

Commercial production is likely to be phased in over the next few years.
