Tata Power Renewable Energy has commissioned a 300 MW domestic content-required (DCR) solar project in Bikaner for NHPC, marking a material delivery in utility-scale solar deployment that prioritises local value addition. 

The project strengthens grid supply in Rajasthan and demonstrates continued momentum for DCR-compliant tenders that seek to build domestic manufacturing linkages for modules and BOS equipment. 

For developers, DCR projects impose supply-chain constraints but also support India’s policy objective of scaling local solar manufacturing and associated employment. 

Commissioning such large AC capacities is increasingly critical as states shore up renewable capacity to meet demand growth and peaking requirements.
