Sunsure commissions 82.5 MWp solar plant in Jhansi

Power Generation  -  Sep 24,2025  -

Sunsure Energy has commissioned an 82.5 megawatt-peak (MWp) solar power plant in Erach, Jhansi, marking its tenth open-access facility in Uttar Pradesh.

With this project, Sunsure has emerged as one of the largest renewable power producers in the state, expanding its total capacity in Uttar Pradesh to 260 MWp across districts including Agra, Banda, Mahoba, Jhansi, and Chitrakoot.

The Jhansi project is expected to generate about 128 million units of green electricity annually, reducing over 2.2 million tonnes of carbon emissions during its lifetime.

The plant will supply power to large industrial clients such as Haldiram’s, APL Apollo, and a major data center, highlighting its role in helping industries transition to clean energy.

Since launching its first 15 MW solar plant in 2021, Sunsure has scaled up rapidly and is now targeting 500 MW operational capacity in the state by 2026.
