REnergy Dynamics (RED) has signed a strategic alliance with global mixing technology firm GMM Pfaudler to manufacture paddle agitators for compressed biogas (CBG) plants in India. 

Paddle agitators play a crucial role in anaerobic digestion, ensuring efficient mixing of organic feedstock and improving gas yields. Until now, most agitators used in CBG projects were imported, adding to costs and supply challenges.

Under the new partnership, agitators are being produced domestically at a Gujarat facility and have already been deployed in large-scale projects, including a Reliance Industries CBG plant developed by RED. 

The collaboration comes as India is set to commission close to 1,000 CBG plants in the next three years, representing a market worth around Rs 7,500 crore for agitator systems alone. 

By localizing production, the two companies aim to cut costs, reduce lead times, and align with the government’s “Make in India” initiative while boosting the self-reliance of the renewable energy supply chain.
