SMS group is set to inaugurate a new production facility in Sanand, Gujarat, by the end of 2025. 

This significant investment reinforces the company's commitment to the Indian market and aligns with the 'Make in India' and 'Vibrant Gujarat' initiatives.

The initial investment for this state-of-the-art workshop starts at EUR 25 million (approximately Rs 225 crore), with strategic plans to increase this to EUR 40 million (approximately Rs 360 crore) as production capacity grows. 

The facility is expected to create substantial employment opportunities, with an initial target of 500 jobs, with the potential to expand to over 1,000 direct and 1,000 indirect jobs in the future. SMS group will also collaborate with educational bodies to ensure a skilled workforce is available.

The new workshop in Sanand will be dedicated to producing key equipment for the international market, with a specific focus on production lines for flat and long steel products and forging plants. 

It will also provide localized repair and service solutions, catering to major clients in the region, including AM/NS India and JSW. Future investments by corporations like POSCO and Adani are also expected to further transform the region's industry.
