L&T bags Mumbai - Ahmedabad Bullet Train's T1 Track contract

Infrastructure  -  Jul 08,2025  -

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has been declared the lowest bidder for the T1 track work package of the ambitious Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project, further solidifying its significant role in India's first high-speed rail corridor.

This latest win marks the third and final track installation package for the 508.17 km Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) project, which will connect 12 stations between the two major cities.

The National High Speed Rail Corporation Ltd (NHSRCL) announced L&T as the successful bidder for the T1 package, which covers track work for a crucial section in Maharashtra, extending from the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) station in Mumbai to Zaroli Village at the Maharashtra-Gujarat border (approximately 156.855 km).

The scope of work includes the design, supply, and construction of track works, along with testing and commissioning, on a Design-Build Lump Sum Price basis for the double-line high-speed railway.

The T1 package also encompasses track work for Package C-1 (the underground BKC Station), Package C-2 (an underground tunnel), and Package C-3 (an elevated viaduct and three stations, which L&T is already constructing).
