ACEN and UPC Renewables announce over 500 MW of Green Energy Projects in India

Power Generation  -  Jul 08,2025  -

ACEN has announced the commencement of construction for over 500 megawatts (MW) of new clean energy projects across India.

This significant development marks a substantial expansion for both companies in one of the world's fastest-growing clean energy markets, reinforcing India's commitment to its renewable energy targets.

The new projects comprise a 420 MW solar farm in the high-irradiance Barmer region of Rajasthan and a 120 MW wind farm in Karnataka. These facilities are slated for completion by early 2027 and are projected to collectively generate approximately 1,158 GWh of clean electricity annually.

This output is sufficient to power an estimated 241,000 homes and is expected to prevent over 876,000 tonnes of carbon emissions each year, significantly contributing to India's decarbonization efforts.

Patrice Clausse, ACEN International CEO and Group Chief Investment Officer, emphasized the importance of the long-standing collaboration, stating, "Our enduring partnership with UPC Renewables has been instrumental in enabling disciplined capital deployment across high-potential markets like India. These new projects represent not just scale, but momentum—as we continue to turn opportunities into action."

Brian Caffyn, Chairman and Group CEO of UPC Renewables, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the companies' successful track record in India.
