Silmax opens manufacturing facility in Bengaluru to support expansion plans

Manufacturing  -  Nov 13,2025  -

Precision-cutting-tools manufacturer Silmax Tools India has inaugurated a new facility at Devanahalli (Bengaluru) with a monthly production capacity of 4,000–5,000 high-end cutting tools, targeting a revenue of around Rs. 100 crore from this unit.

The facility will serve aerospace, defence, general engineering and other precision-manufacturing sectors.

Silmax draws on its parent company’s 200-year history in high-performance tooling, and the Indian facility supports localised production, faster lead-times, import-substitution and value addition.

Bengaluru’s aerospace/manufacturing ecosystem and government incentives for high-precision engineering make this plant strategically located. For Silmax, this move aligns with growing domestic demand for advanced tooling, rising global export opportunities, and a “Make in India” thrust in aerospace/defence.

Execution risks include ramp-up of skilled workforce, supply-chain stability for tool-grade carbide and coatings, and maintaining global quality standards. Success here can open further localisation and scale-up opportunities for the company and its strategic customers.
