Selan Exploration technology commences production from Mukkamala field in Krishna-Godavari Basin

Petroleum  -  Jul 26,2025  -

Selan Exploration Technology Limited has announced the commencement of gas production from its Mukkamala Field, situated within the Dangeru Contract Area in the onshore Krishna-Godavari (KG) Basin.

This marks a significant milestone for Selan, as it is the company's first production outside the traditional Cambay Basin.

The achievement follows Selan's strategic merger with Antelopus Energy Private Limited, which brought the Dangeru Contract Area with 100% participating interest into Selan's portfolio. The company successfully completed a workover and hydraulic fracturing of the Muk-1 well, tapping into the prolific Raghavapuram Shale reservoir.

The initial tested flow rate is approximately 0.5 MMscfd (~80 boepd) at a wellhead pressure of ~5000 psig, with an expected single well flow potential exceeding 6 MMscfd (~1000 boepd) based on current performance. Selan plans to ramp up production using existing infrastructure in the short term, with new infrastructure on the horizon for the longer term.

This strategic move underscores Selan's commitment to growth, efficient resource development, and maximizing resource monetization from the ~140 sq. km. contract area, which also includes the Dangeru gas discovery.
