Dixon Technologies (India) Limited has received crucial approval from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY), Government of India, to form a joint venture (JV) with Chinese peer Longcheer. 

The JV will be established with Longcheer's Singapore-based subsidiary, with Dixon holding a 74% stake and Longcheer holding 26% of the total paid-up share capital.

The proposed joint venture company, to be named Dixtel Infocomm upon the closing of definitive agreements, will engage in the manufacturing and supply of a wide range of electronic devices, including smartphones/tablets, true wireless stereo, smartwatches, AI PCs, automotive electronics, and healthcare devices. 

Longcheer, known for designing products for major brands like Vivo, Xiaomi, Oppo, and Samsung, will bring its Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) expertise to the collaboration.

This strategic partnership is expected to introduce several key advancements, particularly in ODM capabilities, and will significantly facilitate the localization of non-semiconductor sub-component manufacturing in India.
