RMC Switchgears has begun commercial operations for a Rs. 153.98 crore solar PV project for Maharashtra State Power Generation Company (MahaGenco) in Ahmednagar, providing clean generation capacity and helping the utility meet its renewable targets. 

The solar plant includes turnkey supply, installation and commissioning work, and is expected to reduce fossil fuel-based generation costs over its operating life. 

RMC said the project enhances its credentials in executing utility-scale renewable solutions and strengthens its order book. 

The installation will supply firm power into the grid and support state decarbonisation goals. The plant’s success is likely to attract more utility renewables contracts for the company.
