Reliance Consumer Products Ltd (RCPL), the FMCG arm of Reliance Industries, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Maharashtra government to establish a large-scale food and beverage manufacturing facility in Katol, near Nagpur.

The company plans to invest over Rs 1,500 crore in the project.

According to a statement from the Chief Minister's Office, the plant is expected to generate direct employment for more than 500 people and will significantly enhance the state's food processing capabilities.

The Nagpur project is part of a broader national strategy by RCPL to build robust manufacturing infrastructure.

The company has previously announced plans to invest Rs 40,000 crore to develop integrated food parks across the country, aiming to leverage AI and robotics to create highly automated and sustainable facilities.
