Poddar Plumbing, a prominent manufacturer of CPVC and PVC pipes, has announced a significant investment of Rs 758 crore to establish a large-scale production facility in Phase 2 of the Vemgal Industrial Area, Kolar, Karnataka. This move scales up their initial investment plans for the state.

The new unit, spread across 33 acres, is projected to commence production by August 2026. This ambitious project is expected to generate 3,000 direct and an additional 9,000 indirect employment opportunities, providing a substantial boost to the local economy.

Of the total investment, Rs 93 crore is allocated for land acquisition, Rs 578 crore for building and machinery, and Rs 87 crore for capital expenditure taxes.

The company, formerly associated with the Aashirvad Pipes brand, has already secured 28 acres of land in Vemgal, with the remaining five acres to be handed over shortly. Construction and machinery installation are reportedly already underway at the Vemgal site.

Upon operationalization, the Vemgal facility will produce a diverse range of high-quality PVC pipes and fittings, including CPVC and UPVC pipes for plumbing and water distribution, agricultural pipes for irrigation, and industrial pipes for transporting chemicals and gases.
