Oil India invites bids for CBG plant in Agartala

Petroleum  -  Sep 24,2025  -

Oil India Limited has floated tenders for the construction of a compressed biogas (CBG) facility in Agartala, Tripura, with a total capacity of 160 tonnes per day.

The project will include two streams of 80 tonnes each, one for mixed municipal solid waste and another for segregated waste. The scope of the tender covers engineering, procurement, construction, operation, and maintenance of the facility.

The Agartala project aligns with India’s efforts to scale up renewable fuel production and strengthen waste-to-energy infrastructure.

It is expected to support cleaner urban waste management in the city, generate local employment, and contribute to the national goal of producing sustainable alternatives to fossil fuels.

The plant also highlights opportunities for technology providers and contractors in India’s fast-growing bioenergy sector.
