Nothing reveals Phone 3 made in India, ahead of its launch

Manufacturing  -  Jun 17,2025  -

Nothing has announced that its first truly premium smartphone, the Phone 3, will be manufactured in India. The London-based company called India "a growing hub for high-quality manufacturing and technological innovation," adding that this move will strengthen its presence in a country where it has seen huge growth and opportunities. It didn't say if it plans to export phones from India or just meet local demand.

This isn't Nothing's first time manufacturing in India. Even though the company is relatively new, it has been making its products here for a while, including both wireless earphones and smartphones.

The Phone 3's predecessor, the Phone 2, is also made locally. And its recent launch, the Nothing Phone (2a) series, is also manufactured in India. Specifically for Nothing, the brand's unique transparent design is arguably harder to achieve, something they've pointed out repeatedly.

While manufacturing in general is a tough job, Nothing's clear and see-through look demands extra care and attention. This also proves India's manufacturing capability and how much the country has progressed in terms of assembly lines and skilled workers.

With the Phone 3, things could be even more challenging since Nothing is presenting it as its first true flagship phone, coming almost two years after the Phone 2.

Though the hardware details are still a secret, Nothing has hinted that it might replace its signature Glyph LED lights with a dot matrix display.
