The National Highways Authority of India has awarded a contract for the construction of the Bhubaneswar Capital Region Ring Road project aimed at improving regional connectivity around the Odisha capital.

The ring road will function as a key bypass corridor, helping divert through-traffic away from Bhubaneswar’s urban core.

Officials said the project will enhance road connectivity between major national and state highways surrounding the city.

The development is expected to ease congestion and support the expansion of the Bhubaneswar metropolitan region.

Construction will proceed in phases following site mobilisation and infrastructure development.
