Chennai-based logistics and warehousing firm NDR Group has commissioned its first solar power project — a 150 kW rooftop installation at the Angadu facility on the city’s outskirts — marking a significant step in the company’s sustainability and renewable energy strategy. 

The solar system is expected to substantially cut carbon emissions, lower dependence on conventional grid electricity, and generate long-term operational cost savings as energy prices rise. 

The initiative reflects a broader trend among industrial and logistics asset owners to embed clean energy solutions into core infrastructure, particularly as warehousing demand surges to support manufacturing, e-commerce, and supply chain diversification. 

The project supports India’s renewable energy and climate action goals, aligning with national targets to expand solar capacity and improve energy efficiency in commercial operations. 

The launch also signals increasing investor and stakeholder interest in green infrastructure within Tamil Nadu’s industrial ecosystem.
