NCC bags Rs 2,269 crore contract for Mumbai Metro Line 6 project

NCC Limited has secured a significant contract valued at approximately ₹2,269 crore (excluding GST) from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) for the Mumbai Metro Line 6 project. 

This substantial work order, formally confirmed through a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) dated July 11, 2025, marks a pivotal advancement for the much-anticipated Pink Line, crucial for enhancing Mumbai's urban transit infrastructure.

The contract, identified as Package 1-CA-232, encompasses a broad scope of essential systems for the metro line, which stretches from Swami Samarth Nagar to Vikhroli – Eastern Express Highway (EEH). 

NCC's responsibilities under this agreement include the "Design, Manufacture, Supply, Installation, Integration, Testing, and Commissioning" of critical components such as the rolling stock (the metro trains themselves), communication-based signaling and train control (CBTC) systems, telecommunication systems, platform screen doors to enhance passenger safety, and all necessary depot machinery and plant at the Kanjurmarg depot for fleet maintenance.

According to NCC's regulatory filing, the construction and installation phase of this intricate project is slated for completion within a timeframe of 24 months.
