Musashi India opens new research and development facility in Bengaluru

Automotive Industries  -  Jul 30,2025  -

Musashi India, the Indian part of Japan's Musashi Seimitsu Industries, has opened a new research and development (R&D) facility called the Musashi Technology Excellence Centre (MTEC) in Bengaluru.

This new center marks 23 years of Musashi's operations in India.

Located at the Atria University Campus, the MTEC is a Rs 100 million investment that will focus on developing new energy storage systems and electric vehicle (EV) technologies specifically designed for Indian conditions. The facility will test and confirm technologies developed by Musashi's global teams and work with international partners and suppliers.

Naoya Nishimura, CEO of Musashi India and Africa Region, highlighted the company's growth from serving a single customer in 2002 to becoming a key supplier to major car manufacturers in India.

The new center aims to improve local R&D capabilities and align with customer needs, especially in advanced energy storage. It is also expected to attract talented individuals in fields like electrochemistry and data science, boosting Musashi's research presence in the region.
