Maruti Suzuki has cleared an investment of Rs. 4,960 crore to establish a new manufacturing plant in Gujarat with 1 million units of annual capacity. 

The facility will support future growth in passenger vehicle demand while offering production flexibility across models. 

It is likely to incorporate higher automation and energy-efficient processes. 

The expansion also supports Maruti’s export strategy from western ports. Over time, the new plant will help the company defend market share amid rising competition.
