Manali Petrochemicals inaugurates  expanded propylene glycol facility

Chemicals  -  Jul 18,2025  -

Manali Petrochemicals Limited (MPL) has announced the successful inauguration of its expanded Propylene Glycol (PG) plant in Chennai.

This significant milestone underscores MPL's commitment to boosting domestic manufacturing and aligning with the Government of India's "Make in India" and "Atmanirbhar Bharat" (Self-Reliant India) initiatives.

The newly expanded, state-of-the-art facility is set to commence operations upon receiving the necessary "Consent to Operate (CTO)" from the Tamil Nadu State Pollution Control Board.

With this expansion, MPL's Propylene Glycol production capacity will increase by a substantial 50,000 tonnes per annum (KTPA), augmenting its existing capacity of 22,000 KTPA to a total of 72,000 KTPA.
Ashwin Muthiah, Chairman of MPL and Founder Chairman of AM International, Singapore, congratulated the MPL team on the capacity expansion.

"The state-of-the-art facility demonstrates our commitment to sustainable expansion, meeting evolving customer expectations, and reinforcing our market leadership," he commented. "It also reflects our focus on local manufacturing and alignment with the government's 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' initiative - a step toward reducing import dependence and contributing to a resilient domestic economy."
