L&T bags BPCL order worth up to Rs. 10,000 crore for India’s largest polyethylene unit

Chemicals  -  Dec 26,2025  -

Larsen & Toubro has secured a mega engineering contract from BPCL valued at up to Rs. 10,000 crore for setting up India’s largest polyethylene manufacturing unit.

The project will significantly expand BPCL’s petrochemical footprint and strengthen India’s polymer production capacity to meet rising domestic demand.

L&T’s scope includes comprehensive engineering, procurement, and construction responsibilities, underlining its leadership in complex industrial projects.

The order further boosts L&T’s already robust order book across energy and chemicals sectors.

This investment will reduce India’s reliance on polymer imports and support downstream manufacturing industries.

It also reinforces India’s ambition to become a global petrochemicals manufacturing hub.
