Lloyds Metals and Energy Limited (LMEL) has successfully commissioned its new 360,000 tonnes per annum (KTPA) sponge iron plant in Ghugus, Maharashtra. 

This facility, a key part of the company's expansion strategy, was executed on a turnkey basis by Lloyds Engineering Works. 

The project was completed in a record time of just over 18 months from receiving environmental clearance. 

The new plant boosts LMEL's total sponge iron capacity to 700 KTPA and is strategically positioned to utilize the company's captive iron ore, strengthening its integrated value chain for steel manufacturing.
