The Uttar Pradesh government has unveiled plans for a sprawling Rs 700 crore Electric Vehicle (EV) manufacturing park in Kanpur. 

This ambitious initiative, a key component of the "Kanpur Metropolitan Development Vision – 2030," aims to transform the historic industrial city into a prominent player on the global EV manufacturing map.

Spearheaded by the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA), the project will see the development of a 500-acre state-of-the-art EV park near Bhimsen. 

The location is strategically significant, positioned along the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC), which offers unparalleled logistical advantages for the efficient transportation of raw materials and finished products.

The Rs 700 crore investment will be facilitated through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, a collaborative approach designed to attract both domestic and international investors and foster robust industrial expansion. 

This model is expected to bring in critical expertise and capital, accelerating the development of a comprehensive EV ecosystem.
