Japanese firms to invest Rs 900 crore in projects near Noida airport

Infrastructure  -  Oct 30,2025  -

Two major Japanese corporations — Kyowa Leather Cloth Co. (a Toyota Group company) and Meira Corporation — have proposed investments worth around Rs 900 crore to develop manufacturing units near the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar.

Facilitated by the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), the initiative aligns with India’s growing appeal as a global manufacturing hub under the “Make in India” program.

The industrial zone around the airport is emerging as a magnet for foreign investment, especially from Japan, which is already India’s fifth-largest investor. The projects will create thousands of skilled jobs and enhance supply chains for automotive and electronics sectors.

Additionally, the Uttar Pradesh government’s plans to establish a “Japanese Industrial Township” nearby could further solidify the region’s status as a major Indo-Japanese manufacturing corridor.
