IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced a fresh push into Eastern India by signing a new Holiday Inn Express near Bagdogra Airport in Siliguri, West Bengal. 

The 100-room property, slated to open in 2028, will cater to business travelers, transit passengers, and leisure tourists exploring the eastern Himalayan belt. 

This development reflects IHG’s broader India strategy to expand beyond metro cities and strengthen its presence in fast-growing regional markets. 

Eastern India has seen a surge in hotel demand thanks to improving connectivity, tourism initiatives, and rising disposable incomes. 

IHG currently operates brands such as Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, and InterContinental across the country and aims to double its India footprint within the next five years. The Siliguri project also aligns with the government’s “Dekho Apna Desh” tourism vision.
