IRCON International gets Rs 458 crore contract

Infrastructure  -  May 05,2025  -

IRCON International has won a contract for construction work worth Rs 458.14 crore. This is for the Tato-I Hydro Electric Project in Arunachal Pradesh.

The company also received a letter from North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO) saying they were chosen for the work.

The first part of the work involves building important sections of the hydroelectric plant. These include the headworks (structures at the start of the water flow) and connected parts, a channel for water, a pipe for water flow, the water intake point, a tunnel for water flow, a surge shaft (to handle water pressure), a pressure shaft, the building for valves, the powerhouse, and other related buildings. The work should be finished in 45 months.

This news comes after IRCON, along with SSNR Projects (as IRCON-SSNR JV), won a big railway project in March 2025. That project, worth Rs 872.69 crore, was given by Rail Vikas Nigam. It involves building tunnels (T1 and T2), a track without ballast (small stones), and related work for a 198-km electric broad-gauge railway line between Mangliyagaon (Indore) and Budni in Madhya Pradesh.
