Hindustan Zinc's Rs 1,700-crore fertilizer plant in Rajasthan is on schedule to be operational by December 2026. 

According to CEO Arun Misra, the plant will produce Diammonium Phosphate (DAP) and NPK (nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium) fertilizers, with a phosphoric acid plant slated to be operational in the first phase by March-April 2026. 

This project is crucial as India imports a significant amount of DAP, and the new plant aims to meet this domestic demand. 

This is a key part of the Vedanta group firm's strategy to diversify into the agricultural sector.
