Hindustan Power launches 435 MWp solar project in Uttar Pradesh

Power Generation  -  Jul 11,2025  -

Hindustan Power, a leading integrated power generation company, has officially commenced work on its substantial 435 MWp solar power project in the Lalitpur district of Uttar Pradesh.

This landmark initiative is set to bolster Uttar Pradesh's clean energy capacity and underscores the nation's steadfast commitment to a sustainable future.

The project was competitively awarded to Hindustan Power by the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd (UPPCL) in April 2025, following a rigorous bidding process.

Under the terms of a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA), UPPCL will procure the clean electricity generated from this solar plant at a fixed tariff, ensuring long-term energy security and cost stability for the state.

This 435 MWp solar project is a critical component of Uttar Pradesh's ambitious target to achieve 22 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2026-27.

By injecting a significant amount of clean energy into the grid, the Lalitpur project will play a pivotal role in reducing the state's dependence on conventional fossil fuels and making substantial progress towards mitigating carbon emissions.
