Hindalco to establish Apple iPhone chassis unit in Andhra Pradesh

Manufacturing  -  Aug 29,2025  -

Hindalco Industries has announced a significant Rs 586 crore investment to set up an aluminum extrusion facility in Kuppam, Andhra Pradesh. The new plant will be dedicated to manufacturing chassis components for Apple's iPhones, a major boost for the "Make in India" initiative.
The project is strategically located in Kuppam, a constituency that borders Tamil Nadu and is just 120 km from Bengaluru, where Foxconn has its second-largest iPhone manufacturing unit outside of China.

This proximity is expected to streamline the supply chain for Apple's growing operations in India. The facility, which is poised to create over 600 jobs, is part of the state's Electronics Component Manufacturing Policy and will receive special incentives.

The move is a significant step towards attracting more high-value electronics manufacturing to the region and solidifying India’s place as a global electronics manufacturing hub.
