Grasim Industries commences commercial production of resin manufacturing

Manufacturing  -  Jun 25,2025  -

Grasim Industries Ltd, a leading company of the Aditya Birla Group, announced that it has started making resin commercially at its Birla Opus Paints factory in Mahad, Maharashtra.

The production of resin began on June 24, 2025, at the Mahad plant. This resin manufacturing section has the capacity to produce 22 million liters per year (MLPA).

The company stated that this production will help them make enough resin in-house for their paint manufacturing needs. Resin is a very important ingredient in paint. It acts like a glue, making the paint stick well, last a long time, and form a strong coating.

In March 2025, the company had already started its main operations at the Mahad plant. That plant has the capacity to produce 180 MLPA of water-based paint, 20 MLPA of distemper, and 30 MLPA of solvent-based paint.

On June 10, Morgan Stanley changed its rating for Grasim from "equal-weight" to "overweight" and also increased its target price for the company's stock.

For the fourth quarter of 2025, the company reported a 31.9% increase in revenue compared to last year, reaching ₹8,926 crore. This was higher than the expected ₹8,675 crore. The strong sales were due to good growth in both its existing and new businesses.
