GHCL earmarks Rs 215 crore for expansion

Textiles  -  Jul 11,2025  -

GHCL Textiles, the dedicated textile arm demerged from GHCL Limited, has announced a significant investment of Rs 215 crore to bolster its manufacturing capabilities.

This strategic capital expenditure is primarily directed towards a major expansion at its Paravai unit in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, which has now commenced commercial production of a state-of-the-art, fully automated manufacturing section.

The core of this expansion involves the installation of 25,536 additional ring spindles.

This augmentation will elevate GHCL Textiles' total installed spindle capacity to a robust 2,24,976 spindles.

The timing of this expansion is critical, as the company's existing 1,99,440 ring spindles were already operating at an impressive 99% capacity utilization, indicating a pressing need to meet growing demand.

Named "Meenakshi," the newly added manufacturing section is designed to be fully automated.

This advanced automation is expected to significantly enhance operational efficiency, streamline production processes, and ensure an even higher standard of product quality, reinforcing GHCL Textiles' commitment to excellence.
