GCMMF to invest Rs 10,000 crore in capacity expansion

Food Processing  -  Sep 24,2025  -

The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), owner of the Amul brand, has announced a fresh investment of Rs 10,000 crore over the next two to three years to expand its processing capacity across the country.

The funds will be used to set up 10 to 12 new facilities, boosting production of milk, ice cream, and other value-added food products.

The investment is part of GCMMF’s plan to achieve a turnover of Rs 1 lakh crore, building on its strong growth trajectory. This marks the federation’s second significant round of capacity expansion, following a Rs 11,000 crore investment made earlier.

The expansion is expected to strengthen Amul’s nationwide cold chain and logistics network, enhance milk procurement opportunities for farmers, and support India’s growing demand for packaged and processed foods.

Favorable consumer trends and supportive policies are also likely to accelerate the company’s growth in the years ahead.
