Gadkari announces Bhopal-Jabalpur Expressway and Tiger Corridor

nion Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has unveiled an ambitious infrastructure development plan for Madhya Pradesh, with projects worth nearly Rs 3 lakh crore. 

Key among the announcements are a new greenfield expressway connecting Bhopal and Jabalpur and a dedicated four-lane "tiger corridor" to boost tourism.

The 255-km greenfield highway between Bhopal and Jabalpur will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 15,000 crore, with its Detailed Project Report (DPR) expected to be ready by December. 

The "tiger corridor," with a revised cost of Rs 5,500 crore, will link the state's four major tiger reserves: Kanha, Bandhavgarh, Panna, and Pench. 

The initiative aims to enhance tourism, generate employment, and strengthen the state's economy. The minister urged state officials to ensure a smooth land acquisition process to expedite the commencement of construction.
