The foundation stone has been laid for a new ethanol plant at the IFFCO Kisan Special Economic Zone in Regadichilaka, Andhra Pradesh.

The project is aimed at boosting ethanol production for blending with petrol under India’s biofuel programme.

Officials said the plant will utilise agricultural feedstock and contribute to rural income generation.

The facility is expected to enhance domestic ethanol supply and reduce fossil fuel dependence.

Construction will proceed in phases following environmental and regulatory clearances.
