Shree Edible Industries (SED) has announced plans to set up what it describes as the world’s first boilerless greenfield sugar refinery at Kandla.

The project aims to introduce energy-efficient refining technology that eliminates the need for conventional boilers.

Company representatives said the facility will focus on sustainability and reduced carbon emissions.

The refinery will be developed at Kandla to leverage port connectivity for exports. The initiative marks a technological shift in sugar refining processes.
