Ester Industries' JV acquires land for Rs 1,600 crore chemical recycling plant in Gujarat

Manufacturing  -  Sep 04,2025  -

Ester Industries' joint venture with Loop Industries, Ester Loop Infinite Technologies (ELITe), has successfully acquired strategic land near Surat, Gujarat, for its new Rs 1,600 crore chemical recycling plant.

The project marks a significant milestone as it will be India's first "Infinite Loop" manufacturing facility.

Strategically located within the Petroleum, Chemicals, and Petrochemicals Investment Region (PCPIR), the site offers excellent access to a large supply of polyester textile waste and a skilled workforce.

The plant will use advanced technology to recycle polyester textile waste into virgin-quality polyethylene terephthalate (PET) resin.

The facility will have an initial annual capacity of 70,000 tonnes and is designed to operate on nearly 80% renewable energy, significantly reducing carbon emissions compared to traditional PET manufacturing.
