CG Power secures its biggest-ever order worth Rs 641 crore

CG Power and Industrial Solutions Ltd has won a big contract from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) worth ₹641 crore. This is their largest single order ever.

The contract is for supplying and servicing 765kV and 400kV transformers and reactors as part of PowerGrid's Corporate Package 7TR-12-Bulk, Lot-4.

This project, which includes one-phase 765/400 KV transformers and various types of reactors, is expected to be finished in 18 to 36 months.

After this news, shares of CG Power closed higher at ₹698, showing a 2.32% increase on the NSE.

With over 88 years in the transformer business, CG Power is known as one of the world's top manufacturers. They make power transformers up to 1,500 MVA and 765kV, and reactors up to 125 MVAr and 765kV.

These high-voltage products are used around the world by power companies, railways, mines, and industries. The company stated that this order highlights CG Power's focus on key infrastructure for India's growing power grid, further strengthening its market position.

CG Power, which is now part of the Murugappa Group, reported total earnings of ₹9,909 crore for the financial year 2025. The company continues to grow its business in industrial, power systems, and consumer appliances sectors.
