Centre clears Rs 1.45 lakh crore for Paradip development projects

Industrial Products  -  Nov 06,2025  -

The Union government has approved projects worth Rs 1.45 lakh crore to transform Paradip, Odisha, into an integrated industrial and logistics hub.

The package includes upgrades in port infrastructure, petrochemicals, roads, housing, and urban amenities. The move reinforces the Centre’s “Purvodaya” vision to accelerate industrial growth in eastern India.
Paradip Port, one of India’s oldest and busiest, will see expansion of cargo-handling capacity, modernization of jetties, and construction of multimodal logistics terminals. Major petrochemical units are also being planned to create a downstream manufacturing ecosystem.

The large-scale investment will improve employment prospects in Odisha’s coastal region while enhancing connectivity to hinterland industrial corridors. The initiative is expected to significantly boost exports and reduce logistics costs for eastern manufacturers.
