The Central government has cleared a Rs 4,000-crore project for the construction of the Sahebganj-Areraj-Bettiah section of National Highway 139W in Bihar.

This section is a part of the broader Patna-Bettiah highway upgrade under NH 139W. The Sahebganj-Areraj-Bettiah stretch will be an approximately 89-kilometer long high-speed corridor.

The project, estimated at Rs 4,000 crore, will be built on a Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM) basis and will be overseen by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
