Andhra Pradesh to establish a mega 23,000-acre Industrial Park in Sri Sathya Sai District

Infrastructure  -  Sep 16,2025  -

The Andhra Pradesh government has unveiled ambitious plans to develop a mega industrial park spanning 23,000 acres in the Sri Sathya Sai district.

This project is a major strategic initiative to attract large-scale industrial investments and create thousands of jobs, leveraging the region's proximity to major metropolitan hubs like Bengaluru and Chennai.

The industrial park will be segmented into 16 sector-specific zones, with a focus on high-growth sectors such as aerospace, space, electronics, drones, and information technology.

The master plan for the park, being developed by renowned firm Lee and Associates, is expected to be submitted to the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) by December.

The park's location, approximately 75 km from Bengaluru's Devanahalli airport, is a key selling point for attracting industries seeking land parcels outside the saturated markets of major cities.

The project includes an area of 8,844 acres previously allocated for the Lepakshi Knowledge Hub, which will now be integrated into the new industrial park. APIIC is in the process of acquiring an additional 14,000 acres, and has set a compensation rate for farmers ranging from Rs 7-14 lakh per acre. The total land acquisition cost is estimated at around Rs 800 crore, which APIIC is funding through loans, having received approval from the state to raise Rs 2,000 crore.
