Andhra Pradesh has announced plans to develop a 500-acre Medical Devices Manufacturing Zone 2.0 in Visakhapatnam as part of its industrial development strategy. 

The proposed zone aims to attract investments in medical devices, diagnostics, and allied healthcare manufacturing, with plug-and-play infrastructure for manufacturers. 

The initiative is expected to strengthen domestic manufacturing capabilities and reduce import dependence in the medical devices sector. 

It builds on the success of the existing Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone and leverages Visakhapatnam’s port-led connectivity. 

The project aligns with national initiatives such as ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’.
